EARLY DISMISSAL TIMES FOR DECEMBER 21: Preschool will dismiss from 12:00-12:30 p.m. Car riders in the Elementary School will be picked up at 1:00 p.m. Middle School car riders in grade 5 or grade 6 will also be dismissed at 1:00 p.m. Car riders in grades 7-12 and bus riders will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m.
Elementary: Accelerated Reader Information - Students are allowed to take AR tests at home. Access website testing, by clicking on "Quick Links" on the school's district homepage. Visit www.arbookfind.com to check a title to see if it is an AR book, it's grade level, and how many points the book is worth.
Students may take tests from 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM each day. Students may not take more than three (3) tests in one day. All students taking tests at home must be prepared to discuss the book with their teacher or answer additional questions about the book when asked. AR is not counted as a grade in Kindergarten or First Grade. AR is part of the reading grade at Second - Fourth Grades. There is a reward party for reaching a point goal set by the teacher and / or Mrs. Burson. Students in Kindergarten and First Grade should be taking tests with the help of their parent(s) or family members. We encourage you to read with your child and then use the early two years to help them learn the process of AR testing. At Second Grade, AR testing should be an indepenent practice. Your child may need help logging in or may need you to help then with a word or two, but the test is to be taken independently so it can be used to check their comprehension and understanding. We greatly appreciate your help with this.
